3º – Dead Poets Society (Peter Weir, 1989)A new teacher ends up completely altering the routine of the students of a conservative school, teaching a new way of seeing life to them. ‘Dead Poets Society’ mixes happy and sad moments in its 128 minutes of duration, guiding itself like a great film. Here, Robin Williams has a masterful performance, adding much to the film.
2º – American Splendor (Shari Springer Berman, 2003)Based on the life of comic book writer Harvey Pekar, the story will go on all his life, showing the possible mishaps of his journey, as well as his strange and misbehaving behavior. Paul Giamatti’s impeccable acting in front of the protagonist, a concise script and a creative direction make this film a must-see.
1º – Barton Fink (Joel and Ethan Coen, 1991)Allocated in the 1940s, the plot shows the destructive nuances about the consequences of a creative block in the life of a rising writer in his career. ‘Barton Fink’ is irredeemable, having an intelligent and agile script, consistent performances and a quality direction. A film that can be dynamic and inviting to the viewer even when dealing with a conceptually heavy theme.
