3º – The Mighty (Peter Chelsom, 1998)A moving drama about the power of friendship inserted in various instances of social contact, ‘The Mighty’ brings the story of two individuals who find in the figure of the other the strength necessary to simply survive. Pearl displayed by the afternoon session for a few years which certainly marked the childhoods of several people.
2º – Requiem for a Dream (Darren Aronofsky, 2000)We will disintegrate the everyday life of four characters affected by drug addiction, whether legal or illegal. We will see the four gradually succumb to their addiction and see their lives simply melting tragically in their hands. Darren Aronofsky’s masterpiece, ‘Requiem For A Dream’ disturbs his uncompromising exposure of the erratic compendium of characters’ lives. A typical movie that stays in the head of anyone who watches even after a long time.
1º – I, Daniel Blake (Ken Loach, 2016)Sad in all its ways, the film brings the cruel journey of an old gentleman who has to move away from his job after suffering a heart attack. We will follow his battle for the simple possibility of seeing a treatment, always waging a battle with the social layer and his government. We will be able to see exactly how a destructive social system acts and never offers positive instances to the central character of the story. ‘I, Daniel Blake’ manages to get the viewer out of the ordinary without using extreme cinematic language, dealing only with a real world apparatus.
