7º – 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (Michael Haneke, 1994)The work brings several fragments of the lives of different people, apparently unconnected to each other, before a tragic event. Their routines and habits are extricated for the spectator, showing the substance of their existences. Everything here is exposed in a crude way and without the slightest concern to leave the film pleasurable on the part of its director to the public. And that only leaves the experience of watching the film more striking. A film that proposes to us several questions, but that does not distribute no answer.

 

6º – Calibre (Matt Palmer, 2018)Two men, in their 30s, decide to remember pleasant things about their friendship in the past, leaving for a small town to practice hunting. The problem is that a terrible accident linked to the mere figure of chance and local truculence will both leave you in an extreme and disturbing situation. ‘Calibre’ certainly does not have all the recognition it should have. Its dense, cadenciada and, of course, quite intelligent story completely captures the attention of the spectator to the unfolding of each fragment of scene. A work that shows a little about the rotten heart of the human being in the world, and also about the sometimes tragic figure of mere chance.
