5º – Christiane F. (Uli Edel, 1981)Concentrating its plot in the 1970s, in Berlin, the film details the adolescence of a young middle class girl, showing the girl’s downfall in the world of drugs. Disturbing and necessary, this work transposes to the viewer the forms that a certain niche of youth ends up following, working on how destructive some stimuli of the world can be to the individual.
4º – Awakenings (Penny Marshall, 1990)A new physician is tasked with the mission of administering a ward with catatonic patients in a psychiatric institution. Discontent with what happens in place, the new doctor changes the empty routines of those patients and initiates a private investigation into the case that will change everyone’s path. ‘Awakenings’ nurtures an optimistic atmosphere about life as it unleashes scenes, taking advantage of the unique partnership between Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.
