3º – Out of Africa (Sydney Pollack, 1985)
The film brings the romance between two very different individuals, with the African continent as the setting. ‘Out of Africa’ is an interesting film exactly for bringing Robert Redford and Meryl Streep as protagonists, since the average script cannot give much density to what we are following.
2º – I Smile Back (Adam Salky, 2015)
A married woman, afflicted by psychological problems that led to adultery and the abuse of forbidden substances, struggles to rediscover a meaning to her existence. Tough in her onslaughts, this film stands out as regular when we look at the final result. However, the strong theme, the idea of not making concessions to the spectator by making explicit a rotten meander of existence and the good performance of actress Sarah Silverman make the work a good one.
1º – Scenes from a Marriage (Ingmar Bergman, 1973)
Conceived, in fact, in a mini-series format, ‘Scenes from a Marriage’ explores several years of a couple’s life, showing the forms of pleasure found by the two individuals, the eventual sufferings of the human journey in the world and the various setbacks of a relationship. A unique work within Ingmar Bergman’s enormous filmography, this film raises the debates, always in a light and unpretentious way, about several concepts about the core of an affective relationship.
