4º – An Autumn Afternoon (Yasujirô Ozu, 1962)
People’s lives in a small Japanese village are dissected. The social exchange of the place is what moves the people there, exposing as the simplicity of those individuals to lead life. Their habits are exploited, their deconstructed anguishes, and their shared pleasures. Yasujirô Ozu’s masterpiece that makes explicit the good side of living in society.

3º – Chungking Express (Kar-Wai Wong, 1994)
The film will follow two distinct stories of two cops who fall in love with women very different from their personalities. We will always have a mood of melancholy contained in each scene of the film, showing all the solitude inserted in the scenery of Hong Kong. Just as in ‘Punch-Drunk Love’, ‘Chungking Express’ shows how the concept of solitude inserted in Western society (an almost pathological look) is quite misrepresented from the Eastern view. The vision of being human presented here is positive, showing the power of creativity, friendship, patience, caution and conformity.
