2º – Amadeus (Milos Forman, 1984)
The film follows some substantial fragments of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s life, capturing his misguided way of acting on the world and his incomparable genius. The plot also presents an opposing view of the protagonist, bringing the life of his greatest rival. Amadeus’ is a true masterpiece of the seventh art, featuring an engaging and conceptually heavy story, unrecoverable plans and a great cast.
1º – Gladiator (Ridley Scott, 2000)
A Roman general is betrayed and his family is dead, starting a frantic search for revenge against those responsible. Gladiator’ has a concise history, a dynamic rhythm and secure performances by his central cast, with participations by Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.
