3º – I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (Oz Perkins, 2016)
A nurse accepts a job in a house away from the city to care for an elderly horror book writer. In place, the nurse, little by little, will begin to find connections between a writer’s work and strange events in the house, questioning the meaning of all that. ‘I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House’ is a more cadenced horror film, opting for better worked out exits, giving the viewer a stable but slow pace. A good option for those who want to explore a different aspect of the genre of terror.
2º – Velvet Buzzsaw (Dan Gilroy, 2019)
Strange murders begin to haunt an art agency, all apparently linked to the work of a mysterious unknown painter who is already dead. Claudicante, this work evidences a supernatural suspense different from the common one, making use of decisions that always choose to escape the basic precepts of the genre.
1º – Clinical (Alistair Legrand, 2017)
After a remarkable incident linked to her profession, a psychiatrist tries to recover her life and decides to see a new patient with emotional problems. The problem is that, little by little, strange events of the past begin to erupt on her, making her rethink her steps on the world. ‘Clinical’ is an average psychological suspense, counting on ups and downs, worthwhile even for its atmosphere of creepy mystery and the exposure of characters always involving.
