We will see the four gradually succumb to addiction and see their lives simply, tragically undoing in their hands. Darren Aronofsky’s masterpiece, ‘Requiem For A Dream’ disturbs his uncompromising exposure of the erratic compendium of characters’ lives. A typical movie that stays in the head of those who watch even after a long time. Commanding one of the four central characters, Jennifer Connelly has a superb, intense performance from the first to the last scene.
4º – Grave of the Fireflies (Isao Takahata, 1988)Gaining form during World War II, the film tells the story of two brothers searching for the simple possibility of survival. ‘Grave of the Fireflies’ is possibly the saddest film ever devised in the seventh art. A rustic animation in its resolutions, never offering positive elements to the spectator, working to denounce the horrors that a war presents.
