In the plot, a young woman begins to be chased by a strange entity, starting a frantic escape through various places. Innovative in its central proposal, ‘It Follows’ is a film that manages to amuse while causing scares, using an intelligent plot, a dynamic rhythm and an atmosphere of classical horror.
2º – The Witch (Robert Eggers, 2015)
In the seventeenth century, a family, inserted in a rural reality, is tormented by the rumours that a witch permeates the place. Along with the rumours, strange events will occur with the family members, putting at stake the fate of their lives. ‘The Witch’ is one of the great surprises of the 2000s genre. A dense film, leaving all its substance to the attractive atmosphere proposed, conducting a story full of nuances.
1º – Rosemary’s Baby (Roman Polanski, 1968)
A couple moves into a nice and quiet apartment, hoping to build their future steps on site. However, the appearance of strange neighbors and the discovery of a pregnancy will bring cruel contours to the life of the couple. A masterpiece of the 1960s, ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ is one of the greatest films of the horror genre. Its unique atmosphere, the climate of paranoia emanating from every outdated scene and the unfolding of the plot make this work a pearl of Roman Polanski’s cinema.
