5º – Little Children (Todd Field, 2006)
The film explores the lives of several distinguished characters, linked only by the erratic links of their journeys. ‘Little Children’ is a rustic film, bringing only ungrateful components in its plot. Perhaps the exact term is not pessimistic in the essence of the tangle of scenes, but rather, realistic. However, the choice to only bring bad facts of the world makes it possible to insert this movie into the list.
4º – Nostalgia (Andrei Tarkovsky, 1983)
In the plot, a Russian poet travels to Italy with his interpreter to research on the life of a composer, discovering in the place more about his own existence. ‘Nostalgia’ draws on the aesthetic rigor characteristic of Andrei Tarkovsky’s cinema to tell his enigmatic story. A true masterpiece that demands a lot from your viewer.
