9º – Contagion (Steven Soderbergh, 2011)A strange epidemic breaks out in the world, leaving life on earth threatened. The film gains all its dynamism by exploring the search of some characters for a cure from the terrible epidemic. ‘Contagion’ is regular in its general compendium, altering between good and bad moments, worthwhile even for bringing together good names of contemporary cinema, such as Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.
8º – Heavenly Creatures (Peter Jackson, 1994)Completely out of step with their social environment, two teenagers end up forming a strong bond of friendship. The problem is that as their friendship grows stronger, the more the environment in which they live emerges as a threat to them. ‘Heavenly Creatures’ enchants and bothers them to the same extent, working with a sad story, based on a real story, and a tangle of characters condemned by simple chance.
