By ruling his life against the death penalty, the man will now feel the psychological consequences of such a conviction on his own skin. ‘The Life of David Gale’ is a cold film, which never gives positive aspects to the viewer, bringing more dynamism to the plot of each scene.

 

6º – Quills (Philip Kaufman, 2000)Based on Doug Wright’s play, the plot follows the troubled daily life of an asylum for madmen that has as its illustrious patient the figure of the Marquis de Sade. Involving and dynamic drama, ‘Quills’ chooses not to attenuate the most striking events in his story, giving the viewer a rustic film. Here, Joaquin Phoenix takes on a secondary character, giving field to the impeccable performances of Geoffrey Rush and Kate Winslet.
