8º – Youth (Paolo Sorrentino, 2015)Two friends, already in old age, are in a kind of resort, discussing significant events of the past, the ephemeral degree of this and the inexorable approach of death. Masterpiece of Italian director Paolo Sorrentino, ‘Youth’ enters an underrated core in any form of media, studying the life in old age. The film also gives us two flawless performances of the actors Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel.
7º – Memento (Christopher Nolan, 2000)After his wife was murdered and he was brutally beaten by a criminal, a man decides to go after the law into their own hands, with the limitation point a serious problem in your short-term memory. ‘Memento’ deals with the character of time in human life, showing an optimistic view on the concept of a meaning to our existence. A masterpiece of Christopher Nolan.
6º – After Hours (Martin Scorsese, 1985)In the plot, a man meets a beautiful woman in a coffee shop, come to talk and be invited to his apartment that night. However, to meet the woman, the man will see their tide of bad luck outbreak, beginning an ordeal that will last all night. ‘After Hours’ is one of the smartest comedies of the 1980s, providing a simple and timely story that entertains in all its situations presented. This film is included in this list in a more symbolic way, with any change of the charge contained in the atmosphere proposal, and not in a character.
