3º – After Hours (Martin Scorsese, 1985)
After meeting an attractive young woman in a restaurant and being invited to her home, a man will enter the strangest and most cruel night of his life. Allocated to the comedy genre, the film, as well as ‘Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’ and other works of the director’s career, is despised inside Martin Scorsese’s filmography. However, every minute of film works by rewarding its spectator, bringing a story permeated by nuances.
2º – Crawl (Alexandre Aja, 2019)
During a hurricane, a woman is trapped in an isolated floating house permeated by crocodiles. The film will concentrate all of its 87 minutes in length showing this journey in search of the woman’s survival. Killer Predators’ is a pleasant surprise from the sub-genre mortal animals, elevating an intermittent action and twists and turns that completely capture our attention.
1º – The Lighthouse (Robert Eggers, 2019)
Two men who care for an isolated lighthouse experience extreme moments at the scene, awakening a series of events that challenge human understanding. Simply fabulous terror, ‘The Beacon’ escapes the common sense of the horror genre, using the figure of madness and isolation as driving forces for everything we see hatching on canvas. A film that borders on the nickname of a masterpiece.
