9º – After Hours (Martin Scorsese, 1985)
After meeting an attractive young woman in a restaurant and being invited to her home, a man will enter the strangest and most cruel night of his life. Allocated in the comedy genre, the film, as well as ‘Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’, is underrated inside Scorsese’s filmography. However, every minute of the film works to reward its viewer, bringing a story permeated with nuances.
8º – In a Lonely Place (Nicholas Ray, 1950)
An unscrupulous screenwriter finds himself on the scene of a murder, placed as a prime suspect, with an unexpected witness to exonerate him. Impeccable, the film is a delight to lovers of the genre, mixing the standard atmosphere of noir works with an irreproachable script. ‘In a Lonely Place’, once again, Humphrey Bogart’s masterly performance at the head of the film.
