10 Marvelous Road Movies to Watch Before You Die

We brought ten big road movies on this list. These are the traditional road movies, with plots that usually happen during a trip of the central characters. And the films listed here follow this starting point, working with stories such as the freedom of spirit of two friends, the journey of an old man behind his sick brother, a boy’s dream of playing in a video game tournament, a young man’s existential battles, etc. Let’s go to the list!

10º – Little Miss Sunshine (Jonathan Dayton, 2006)A dysfunctional family tries to take their youngest member to a talent contest in a distant place.  Throughout this journey, family members will be able to better understand their different ways of dealing with the world, as well as learn to respect each other’s differences. ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ is a film about the simplest things in life, with characters who embody different stereotypes found in a society.

9º – Thelma and Louise (Ridley Scott, 1991)After being constantly punished by the social environment that permeates them, two friends decide to leave everything behind and embark on a journey across the country. Directed by Ridley Scott, ‘Thelma and Louise’ weaves her concepts based on hammering, exposing, like many other items on this list, the erratic way for a society to guide its paths. A daring and unretouchable film in its construction of rhythm, leaving the worked concepts more palatable to the spectator.

8º – The Straight Story (David Lynch, 1999)After discovering that his brother is sick, an elderly man decides to cross the country on a small tractor to see his relative.  A loose pearl in David Lynch’s filmography, ‘The Straight Story’ is a film about the instance of perseverance contained in the human being.
