7º – The Elephant Man (David Lynch, 1980)A doctor ends up discovering the figure of a young man completely disfigured as a simple circus freak. Realizing a unique talent in that individual, the doctor decides to help the man, giving him a whole new life. Sadly and conceptually disturbing, the film questions the destructive social values contained in individuals of the most diverse, provoking the viewer with thrilling scenes.
6º – The Sea Inside (Alejandro Amenábar, 2004)A quadriplegic man fights for the right of euthanasia and end his life. The film gains its substance just by exploring this sad struggle of man, always counteracting what has remained positive in his life. ‘The Sea Inside’ is an extremely sad film, bringing a rustic compendium normal to life. The book also discusses the controversial issue of euthanasia and the simple right to freedom.
