In a dreamlike and random plot, two young women try to unravel the secrets of the world and its existence. An emblematic work of the 1960s, belonging to the cinema of the cult Vera Chytilová, ‘Daisies’ mixes different substances in its two central characters, playing with moral and ethical rules.
2º – Monster (Patty Jenkins, 2003)
Based on the life of serial killer Aileen Wuornos, the film brings together small fragments of a woman’s journey around the world, showing what led her to enter the life of crime. One of the best movies about serial killers ever made, ‘Monster’ owes much of its success to Charlize Theron’s irrevocable performance in front of the central character.
1º – We Need to Talk About Kevin (Lynne Ramsay, 2011)
Cruel in his onslaughts, the film tells the story of a young man with antisocial personality disorder and his mother before and after an extreme act: ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’ is disturbed by the conceptual density of what is exposed, using an unretouchable story and a fantastic performance by actress Tilda Swinton.
