7º – Ford v Ferrari (James Mangold, 2019)
The journey of two men obsessed with success is unraveled by the film, exploring the battle of the two in search of the ideal car to defeat the powerful Ferrari car in a 24 hour race. ‘Ford v Ferrari’ is a film that subverts the common bonds of subgenre sport in cinema, with a story that studies not only the central theme, but also the private life of the central characters.
6º – Eastern Promises (David Cronenberg, 2007)
A nurse ends up getting involved with the personal events of a woman who died recently in the hospital where she works. However, getting involved with facts of the girl’s life will bring her together a series of mafia setbacks. David Cronenberg’s best film in the 21st century, ‘Eastern Promises’ brings the director’s traditional exacerbated violence, always alternating with an agile plot. Here, much of the film’s success is due to Viggo Mortensen’s memorable performance, which achieves the best interpretation of his life in the work.
