7º – The Bridge on the River Kwai (David Lean, 1957)In the plot, in the midst of World War II, an English colonel and his subordinates are captured by the Japanese army, receiving the order to build a bridge. As the work is executed, the colonel finds himself increasingly obsessed with the idea of erecting the bridge, making explicit in his psychological apparatus a series of moral questions. ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ is amazing from the first to the last scene, bringing memorable characters and impeccable David Lean direction.
6º – Apocalypse Now (Francis Ford Coppola, 1979)In the midst of the Vietnam War, a US Army capital is tasked with capturing a mad colonel who has deserted and now defends the enemy. The film gains its substance as it explores every meander of this captain’s journey behind the colonel. Containing more than 4 hours in its longest version, ‘Apocalypse Now’ is an undisputed classic of the war movies, bringing a great conjunction of incredible characters to be unleashed by the viewer.
