9º – Empire of the Sun (Steven Spielberg, 1987)An English boy living in China has his life completely changed when the country is invaded by the Japanese, in the middle of the Second World War. Hard in all its directions, the plot does not attenuate the setbacks faced by the boy in each scene, showing his seemingly lost fight for survival. ‘Empire of the Sun’ still brings us an incredible performance by Christian Bale, still early in his career, ahead of the central character.
