In the midst of a decaying New York, the troubled taxi driver Travis Bickle deals with the worst of the city streets at night. After loving disappointments and constant psychological harassment of his clients, Travis ends up entering a mixture of confusion and mental decay. Directed and masterfully scripted by respectively Martin Scorsese and Paul Schrader, the film has its pinnacle in the intense performance of Robert De Niro.
1º – Raging Bull (Martin Scorsese, 1980)
Based on the life of boxer Jake LaMotta, ‘Raging Bull’ brings us the life of a man ruled by an inexorable process of self-destruction. Here we will see how Jake destroys the life of himself and everyone around him, even having as a gift the art of being one of the best in his profession. Here Robert De Niro not only delivers the best performance of his career, but also one of the biggest in film history.
