7º – Le Samouraï (Jean-Pierre Melville, 1967)
We will follow the daily life of a killer of perfectionist rent, understanding more about his usual model of governing his profession and his private life. The film gains its substance when he makes a mistake in one of his services, seeing, little by little, everything he had built fall to the ground. ‘Le Samourai’ brings the story of an individual with his own model of seeing the instances of the world, not letting external social forces dictate the way he behaves. Jean-Pierre Melville’s masterpiece.
6º – Paris, Texas (Wim Wenders, 1984)
After several years of disappearance, a man mysteriously returns, being found wandering through the desert. Now, it is up to him to form a bond with his little son who was under the care of his brother and leave on a journey behind his wife. Wim Wenders’ masterpiece, ‘Paris, Texas’ is beautiful from the first to the last scene, showing life at its simplest and most common roots to all. A film for us to watch and become better people.
