10 Heartbreaking Movies About Suicide

 

5º – Before i Disappear (Shawn Christensen, 2014)On the verge of suicide, a man disillusioned with his life receives a request for help from his sister in order that he takes care of a short period of time of his niece’s 11 years. Together, the man and his niece will form a strange bond of friendship, always based on unsuitable situations, showing both that life could still offer new and incredible things. A good recent choice in cinema, this film surprises for its lightness in its scenes and central meander of history, with an optimistic aura about part of existence and about the adaptive character of the human being.

 

4º – Christine (Antonio Campos, 2016)Based on a real event, the film brings the story of a journalist from a television channel in a small town, exposing the solitary life of the woman and her incessant search to rise from office in her career. The film gains its substance when the woman begins to lose contact with reality, increasingly undertaking a self-destructive behavior in relation to her social environment in which she is inserted. ‘Christine’ works with a character inserted in an inexorable stage of depression, also contrasting a possible Borderline Personality Disorder, bringing all the sad degenerative aspect to her. An extremely disturbing film, not being recommended for moments of emotional instability due to its heavy conceptual content.
