We’ve listed ten great female roles in Woody Allen movies. In the director’s enormous filmography, we can constantly see great performances in his films. And, for the most part, they come from actresses. Allen often works on several films with the same actors and actresses, providing a very extensive and diverse field for cast members to govern their performances. For this list, we will limit ourselves to an actress role in order not to monopolize the list with Diane Keaton and Mia Farrow’s fantastic performances in Allen’s films. Let’s go to the list!

The featured female performance here focuses on actress Rachel McAdams, who manages to perform one of the best performances of her career.
9º – Vicky Cristina Barcelona (Woody Allen, 2008) – Featured: Penélope CruzTraveling through Spain, two friends find themselves in love with the same man, developing several conflicts between them. The plot gains its substance when the ex-wife of the man reappears and ends up creating a whole tangle of situations among all involved. All the cast is very well in this film, however, the performance that ends up having a highlight is Penelope Cruz.

Elaine Stritch is sorely missed in this list. Her role in September is magnificent. So is Geraldine Paige’s performance in Interiors. Make the list longer, rather than incomplete, to include these WA characters who deserve a spot.
