7º – Cries & Whispers (Ingmar Bergman, 1972)When a woman is in the final stretch of her life, condemned by cancer, it will be up to her two sisters to provide her some comfort in the midst of the pain. However, the presence of the two will only exacerbate the suffering of all those exposed there. ‘Cries & Whispers’ is a film that changes the way the viewer sees the world. Everything contained therein is of an amazing perfection. Not a few of the scenes that literally shudder at their intense substance, such as the monologue of the character of Erland Josephson in relation to one of the sisters under the figure of a mirror or the moment in which the characters of Liv Ullmann and Ingrid Thulin embark on a discussion of the constitution of the family relationship between the two. Anyway, there are several incredible moments of this film. One of the greatest works ever made in the cinema.
