4º – Joint Security Area (Chan-wook Park, 2000)

The film deals with the cold conflict contained in the borders between South Korea and North. Here we will see how human stupidity compromises the lives of others and destroys any fragment of positive things. But more than that, ‘Joint Security Area’ still shows how friendship and camaraderie can exist in the most unpleasant situations. One of the first films of Chan-wook Park’s career and undoubtedly one of the best.

 

3º – Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… And Spring (Ki-duk Kim, 2003)

Ki-duk Kim brings a film about the different cycles of life. Here the director makes the traditional use of silence, something incessantly explored in his career, contrasting with the exacerbations of the human essence. A poetic work, with a masterful photograph, a concise script, discreet and forceful performances and impeccable direction.
