6º – The Chaser (Hong-jin Na, 2008)
Frantic from the first to the last minute, ‘The Chaser’ is a film permeated by nuances. Violent, the work makes no concessions at the moment of shocking the viewer with a stronger graphic content. The entire film follows a climate of suspense rarely seen in Western cinema. Its director, Hong-jin Na, presents us not only with one of the best Korean suspensions ever made, but also one of the best films of the 21st century.
5º – 3-Iron (Ki-duk Kim, 2004)
Loneliness and silence are the major themes addressed by this Ki-duk Kim masterpiece. ‘3-Iron’ investigates how the human being can find comfort in the strangest behaviors one can find in a modern society. We still have the opportunity to see, in the second part of the film, how the presence of the other is important and natural to man.
