8º – Peppermint Candy (Chang-dong Lee, 1999)

The movie begins with the scene that would be the last one, with a man in his last moments before committing suicide. Everything that happens after this first scene helps the viewer unfold the threads that give substance to what had led the man to such an exacerbated attitude. A potent drama that brings in its essence the traditional use of the humor of Korean cinema.

 

7º – The Host (Joon-ho Bong, 2006)

Here is perhaps the best monster movie ever made. ‘The Host’ uses its 120 minutes to bring to the viewer everything that is possible in the genre. We will have action, drama, moments of a humor that arise naturally on screen, a script that does not sin for exaggeration and an impeccable direction of one of the best directors of the present time.
