In this Top 10, we have brought films that have as central concept in their plots the aspect of the change in the human being. They are sincere films that cherish the exposure of the real layers of human life, never attenuating fragments to the viewer. 10º – The Elephant Man (David Lynch, 1980)A doctor discovers the existence of a deformed man considered by the social axis as a mere circus aberration. We will gain dynamicity in the plot when the doctor decides to adopt the man, allowing him to have a new life, discovering an individual full of unique qualities. Sad to see how the social sphere deals with what is alien to him, ‘The Elephant Man’ also proposes as reflection the adaptive power that each individual brings with him.
9º – Memories of Murder (Joon-ho Bong, 2003)In the 1980s, in a small province in South Korea, two detectives command a frantic search for a serial killer who is terrorizing the place. Much more than a first-rate suspense, ‘Memories of Murder’ works on the power that some facts have in our lives. A film about time and, inexorably, about the importance of some choices.
