4º – The Seventh Continent (Michael Haneke, 1989)
Michael Haneke denounces the unsubstantial mores of modern society in this film. ‘The Seventh Continent’ is a film about insane routines and their catastrophic implications in the lives of different people. Just like a flu, here the inability to take pleasure in life seems to be transmitted through the air. An entire family is “contaminated” by this apathy, unleashing devastating consequences for the viewer.

3º – Love Liza (Todd Louiso, 2002)
His wife’s unexplained suicide leaves incurable scars in a man’s life. ‘Love Liza’ is one of the saddest and most disheartening films of this century. Everything here is suffering. Everything here is accomplished through pain. All forms of social intercourse arise through a bad story of some character. A film not to be watched in times of emotional instability.
