3º – Little Miss Sunshine (Jonathan Dayton, 2016)
A dysfunctional family tries to take their youngest member to a talent contest in a distant place. Throughout this journey, family members will be able to better understand their different ways of dealing with the world, as well as learn to respect each other’s differences. ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ is a film about the simplest things in life, with characters who embody different stereotypes found in a society.
2º – The African Queen (John Huston, 1951)
In the midst of the outbreak of World War I, an English missionary finds herself completely alone in Africa after her brother’s death, having to resort to the help of a drunken captain of a boat. Nurturing an impeccable direction from John Huston, a dynamic and exciting story and a brilliant cast, ‘The African Queen’ is a masterpiece of cinema. Watching Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn share the screen as a romantic couple is a unique experience for the viewer.
1º – Vicky Cristina Barcelona (Woody Allen, 2008)
On a trip to Spain, two friends fall in love with the same man and have to deal with his unbalanced ex-wife. Belonging to Woody Allen’s cinema, ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ is light and has a concise plot. However, the highest quality point of the film is due to the cast of extreme quality.
