9º – The Mean Season (Phillip Borsos, 1985)A journalist believes he has the story of his life after a terrible serial killer who is terrorizing his city contacts him informing about a possible victim. After several phone calls, reporter and serial killer begin to form a bond of trust that can have frightening consequences for one party. Completely forgotten in the 1980s, ‘The Mean Season’ is a thriller that thrills and chills with every scene overcome, bringing a powerful story, fascinating characters, a direction that knows how to guide a good mystery and the unretouched presence of Kurt Russell as the protagonist.
8º – Breakdown (Jonathan Mostow, 1997)After his wife mysteriously disappears after hitching a ride, a man will travel through each meander of a small town looking for his wife. Divided into action and suspense, the film manages to bring us a dynamic story, with some characteristic exaggerations, of course, that still counts with the presence of Kurt Russell at the head of the central character giving more weight to the work. A good option for those who love suspense road movies.
