5º – Carlito’s Way (Brian De Palma, 1993)In the plot, a middle-aged man, enveloped throughout his life in crime, is released from prison and promises himself that he will stay away from the tortuous ways of the world and lead an honest life. However, the past will erupt several times in the life of man, with people and cases that will force him back into the world of crime. ‘Carlito’s Way’ marks the epic re-encounter of Brian De Palma and Al Pacino after the wonderful ‘Scarface’. Here we will have nothing close to their previous contribution, with a film more focused on transposing to the viewer the dramas of a character condemned by mistaken choices of his journey in the world. A good movie that certainly is worth its 144 minutes in length.
