2º – Total Recall (Paul Verhoeven, 1990)In the future, a man decides to take an illusory vacation trip on Mars offered by a technology company. However, things are out of control, leaving the man in a game of interminable deceptions. Everything in the movie is fantastic. A typical futuristic film that knows how to take advantage of its pleasant construction of scenarios. One of the best films of the career of filmmaker Paul Verhoeven.
1º – Brazil (Terry Gilliam, 1985)In the plot, a man, wrapped in a bureaucratic routine in a company, ends up being the victim of an administrative error, having now to correct it in the middle of a strange and uncomfortable futuristic world. ‘Brazil’ is a film scorned in the 1980s, forgotten, even today, but presenting us with a unique world representation. Its director, the talented Terry Gilliam, manages to bring elements that make a connection between past and future, managing to leave a futuristic film with a nostalgic aura.
