7º – Pretty Woman (Garry Marshall, 1990)Light in each scene resolution, the film brings in its plot the relationship of a successful man and a showgirl. ‘Pretty Woman’ is a simple comedy, but one that manages to mark the viewer by the incredible performance of Julia Roberts, as well as the pleasant construction of atmosphere that the director manages to bring.
6º – The Philadelphia Story (George Cukor, 1940)A wedding of high-ranking members of society arouses the interest of a newspaper, which sends two journalists and the ex-husband of the woman who is getting married to cover the event. ‘The Philadelphia Story’ is unorthodox, bringing a clever plot, assertively unravelling each meander of his central characters. The fabulous cast of the film is also responsible for much of the success, with the presence of James Stewart, Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn.
