5º – Papillon (Franklin J. Schaffner, 1973)Surrounded by a harsh reality of an isolated island that serves as a kind of prison, two men decide to try to escape from that place, devising a plan that borders on suicide. ‘Papillon’ is a different prison film, giving a wider range of possibilities to guide him through history to the detriment of the extensive stretches of the island. Here, there is also the possibility of seeing the unique partnership between Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman commanding the central characters.
4º – Midnight Express (Alan Parker, 1978)A young American is caught in a Turkish airport with drugs. Soon, the young man is sent to a local prison, facing a terrible ordeal in that destructive environment. Disturbing, ‘Midnight Express’ demands a lot from his spectator, presenting a hard story about the rotten core of the human being in the world and also groping about the dangers of naivety.
