5º – Thesis (Alejandro Amenábar, 1996)After learning about a supposed videotape containing a “snuff” content in her college, while doing research on violence, a student decides to investigate the case, only to discover things that, perhaps, she should not have moved. ‘Thesis’, in fact, fits more to the genre of suspense, with unevenness in its plot always guided by mystery and investigative sense, but some of its paths chosen by the script and direction in the final straight make us include the film in this list of terror.
4º – Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter (David Zellner, 2014)A young misfit begins a journey across the globe to find a possible lost treasure. A nostalgic work for VHS lovers – it is through a tape that the protagonist believes she has found the location of the treasure – ‘Kumiko’ enchants for its strangeness and fun plot with surprising exits.
